Sante Selected in Competition at Venice Critics’ Week

Produced by CSC – Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and distributed exclusively by Premiere Film, the short film represents Italian cinema in one of the most prestigious international showcases for contemporary filmmaking.

We are proud to announce the nomination of Mare Contro, directed by Paola Verardi, for the Globo d’Oro Award for Best Short Film.
Produced by Dinamo Film and Skandal Production, with the support of Apulia Film Commission and the Puglia Region, the film has been recognized among the outstanding works competing for this prestigious award.

Fantastic news for the Italian short film industry!
More than 100 cinemas across Italy will take part in a new initiative, screening a continuously updated selection of short films every second Tuesday of the month for an entire year.
Audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy approximately 70 minutes of diverse and thought-provoking short films on the big screen in a single evening, offering a unique showcase of contemporary Italian filmmaking.
This important initiative has been made possible thanks to the collaboration of FICE, ANEC, RAI Cinema, Alice nella Città, and ANDC – Associazione Nazionale Distributori Cortometraggi.
A significant step forward in bringing short films to theatrical audiences throughout Italy and further strengthening the visibility of this extraordinary cinematic format.

Maurizio Lombardi’s Marcello has won the 2025 Nastro d’Argento Award for Best Short Film, bringing home the sixth Nastro d’Argento for our company.
The celebrations do not stop there. Matteo Cirillo’s Pinocchio Reborn was also nominated among the finalists, while two of our productions received prestigious Special Awards.
Sharing Is Caring, directed by Vincenzo Mauro, earned the Special Acting Award for Vincenzo Nemolato, recognized for his irresistible comic performance.
Sorveglianze, directed by Guido Pontecorvo, was the only short film to receive two Special Awards: the Fondazione Claudio Nobis Award, traditionally dedicated to outstanding emerging filmmakers, and the Media Fenix Award, which includes post-production services worth €5,000 to support the director’s next short film.

After ten years, thanks to the vision of the new Artistic Director, Oscar Iarussi, short films are finally returning to our hometown at BIF&ST – Bari International Film & TV Festival—and we are especially proud to be part of the festival’s opening.

A major new initiative celebrating the world of short films was officially presented today at the RAI studios in Rome.
As announced in the official RAI press release, the Cinema and TV Series Department has launched “In Corto d’Opera”, a project dedicated to short films, developed in collaboration with RAI Cinema and spanning several RAI platforms.
Starting June 22, the selected short films will premiere in late-night slots on RAI 3 every Friday and on RAI 5 every Thursday and Saturday. In addition, from June 22, the complete collection of 39 short films will be available to stream on RAI Play.
This initiative represents an important step forward in promoting short-form cinema and bringing outstanding emerging and established filmmaking talent to a wider television and digital audience.
