It is the night of September 25, 1988, a night brighter than the others: the moon is full and radiates the Statale 640, the one that leads from Agrigento to Caltanissetta; a car is running when, at the Giurfo viaduct, it is attacked by a commando of hit men who explode a hail of lead against the unsuspecting vehicle passengers. The bodies, mangled and unrecognizable, they belong to Antonino Saetta, aged 65, president of the first section of the Court of Assizes of Appeal of Palermo, and his son Stefano, thirty-five. Both headed for the capital Sicilian, without armor or escort, after having participated at the baptism of a grandchild, in Canicattì. Antonino, sentenced to death by Cosa Nostra because he was impassive to compromise but donated to the cause of Giustizia, and Stefano, unaware martyr of a despicable reality that spares no one
