The 2026 Globo d’Oro Award for Best Short Film has found its way to our office, together with its director, Andrea Di Salvatore.
This marks the fourth Globo d’Oro won by a PREMIERE FILM short film, a milestone that reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting outstanding filmmakers and bringing exceptional stories to audiences.

We are thrilled to announce that OH BOYS, the short film developed and produced through the PREMIERE FILM LAB, has been selected for the official Directors’ Fortnight (Quinzaine des Cinéastes) at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.
Directed by Antonio Donato, OH BOYS is produced by Premiere Film in association with Andromeda Film, VIA 73 Films, and Donuts Film. The film is also an exclusive title for Rai Cinema Channel in Italy.
This prestigious selection represents an important international milestone for the film and for the PREMIERE FILM LAB, reaffirming our commitment to discovering, developing, and promoting new filmmaking talent.
The Nastro d’Argento Award for Best Animated Short Film goes to Rukeli, directed by Alessandro Rak!
This marks the seventh Nastro d’Argento award received by a PREMIERE FILM short film in just ten years of activity.

The short film shortlist, selected by 265 members of the Italian Film Academy, brings together the 15 titles advancing to the final stage of the award competition.

The director of the debut feature film Discesa Libera, Sandro Torella, was welcomed at the Foreign Press Association for a special meeting with the Globo d’Oro jury members and association members.
During the event, the director generously shared insights into the background of the film, the creative process behind its making, and the journey that led to the completion of his first feature-length film.
An opportunity to explore the story behind Discesa Libera and gain a deeper perspective on the passion, vision, and work behind this debut project.
The short film Bratiska, directed by Gregorio Mattiocco, has won the two main awards at Alice nella Città.
The film received the Best Italian Short Film Award and the Rai Cinema Award, a double recognition celebrating the originality and quality of this outstanding work.
At the 40th International Critics’ Week, Festa in Famiglia, directed by Nadir Taji, won the Best Director Award within the SIC@SIC short film competition of the Venice International Film Festival.

The official selection of the Orizzonti Short Films section at the Venice International Film Festival featured, out of competition, the stunning animated short film Rukeli, directed by Alessandro Rak.
